Sony HDR-TG3 review

Pro:

The Sony HDR-TG3's build quality is exceptional, from the machined metal zoom rocker and to the pristine 10x Carl Zeiss optics. It's also unbelievably easy to use, more simple and it'd be a shoe-in for the next Big Brother. Inside its sexy metal case ...

Contra:

Sony HDR-TG3

The smallest full HD camcorder yet and isn't much larger than a fat smartphone.

Pro:

Size, surround sound support, speed

Memory stick format, not great indoors

Size and portability ; video quality ; stills quality

Confusing controls ; AVCHD format ; no mic socket

Conclusion:

Sony's forte is high-quality, cutting-edge technology delivered in highly desirable, stylish consumer products. That describes the TG3E perfectly. Serious videographers may scoff at some of its omissions and weaknesses, but for non-experts happy to ...

Sony HDR-TG3

Sony's HDR-TG3 makes an impressive entrance into the growing pocketable camcorder market.

Conclusion:

The Sony HDR-TG3 is another bold step from Sony, the company which broke HD into the UK market and dominated for the first year or so. The poor low light performance will be a worry if you want to shoot family events in darkened rooms. But for a sub ...
